How to make a high resolution images from low resolution ones.

If you have a low resolution copy of a logo that pixelates when you make it larger you can use this method to get a higher resolution version. It won't be totally accurate, but it will at least get rid of the pixelation. This method will not work for photographs, just for line art type logos.

Here is what you need to do (steps 1 and 2 are optional but may prevent the breaking up of lettering in the logo):

1. Open your image in an image editing program like Gimp or Photoshop.
2. Reduce the number of colours by changing the format to indexed image file (gif or png is fine).
3. Upload the image to www.vectormagic.com and follow their instructions (your first two conversions are free).
4. Download the image in eps and svg formats when they prompt yopu to do so.
5. Now open the image in Photoshop or Gimp.
6. You will be prompted to choose what size you want the image to be.
7. Enter your choice and the image will be created.
8. Save your image in your prefered format.

You can go back to the vector version at any time to make a new version in a different size.
